A quick note to some of my newer followers. Occasionally I capture an image that is so surreal that it inspires a tale that can only happen in my wildest dreams. Tonight’s feature image was taken on the Kanawha River of the summer sky reflected in the water above the hydroelectric plant at Kanawha Falls.
When my eyes opened I found myself laying in the cool grass beneath a large oak tree. The large oak tree seemed to whisper in the breeze welcoming me back to the dreamworld. I smiled as I rose to my feet in one motion and was walking. As I stepped the ground seemed to fall away from underneath me and before I could react I was swimming in the sky. The clouds parted in my wake and sent ripples across the deep blue plane. That was when I spotted the comet skipping along the surface. As the comet passed by I heard it giggle and decided to join in on the fun. A game of follow the leader ensued as I chased the comet. We bounced off of the clouds. It was like being inside a pinball machine. We zipped up and zoomed down until we passed the top of my mountains. There on the highest peak was the whispering oak. It’s time to come home.” He said softly. With one last long loop I circled the ridge and waved goodbye to the comet. The liquid atmosphere allowed me to fall gently under the branches once more as my eyes closed.
I awoke from the dreamworld and it was still dark. The light from hallway spilled through the cracks around my bedroom door. Glancing at the alarm clock, I saw that it was only 4:00 AM and there was still plenty of time before I had to start my day. I rolled over and drew the bedsheets up over my shoulders. And just as closed my eyes I swear that I heard giggles coming from outside of my window.
