Clinging delicately to cluster of flowers a solitary bumblebee enjoys the sweetness of each tiny floret. Her life is good. Her only concern is deciding on which flowers to feed on. Her needs are met by the abundance of God’s providence. The good life is the simple life. Yes, there’s always work to be done. A simple life isn’t a lazy life. But the tasks to be done aren’t chores that leave one broken. Instead it’s more like collecting rewards.
The bee lives in harmony with it’s landscape. The flowers need her just as much as she needs them. Their system meshes together with the efficiency that only God could commission. On average, a bumblebee will travel 3 miles per day and visit thousands of flowers. That’s quite a feat when you consider the she’s only about a half of an inch long herself. In some studies it’s proclaimed that she might fly as far as 25 miles per day. No wonder why bumblebees are always so hungry. While bumblebees are known to bore holes in wood these holes are generally used for brooding. A sleeping bumblebee can often be found early in the morning sleeping inside deep flowers like hibiscus. I suppose that after such tremendous flight time that they rest very well and carefree in their little flower tents.
