A Lazy Day At The Lake

Hello friends! Tonight’s feature image is titled “Lazy Day At The Lake” and is available for purchase by the instructions at the bottom of the article.

Two of my favorite environments are next to any body of water and in the presence of trees. That’s why this little spot in the overflow at Salmon Run is one of my go to spots for relaxation. The lower limbs of the big old tree dip down to almost touch the water and forms a little “tent” to shelter out the hot sun. The fish seem to really like this spot too. Bass and Bluegills patrol the edges of the water and hang out near the submerged wood. Occasionally a massive carp surfaces and quickly rolls back down to murky depths.

The local kids get a big thrill from feeding the fish. They toss a few bits of stale bread on water and wait for them to disappear in tumult of hungry fish.

I took tonight’s feature image in the summer of 2008. It’s become one that I often pull out in the blahs of winter to give myself a little mood boost as I wait for the weather to catch up with my soul’s desires.

  1. Mood boost indeed! Along with all the amazing butterfly photos my other favourites are the reflections in bodies of water. I would love to be in this spot surrounded by all of nature’s glory right now 🙂 Happy Friday Lloyd! ❤

    1. Thank you very much! ❤ I spent most of my childhood on a roughly 200 acrea farm in the mountains of West Virginia ( I'm still in the area today but not on the farm ) . I spent my days just roaming the trails and climbing rocks.

      1. Sounds magnificent! My Dad went to college in West Virginia so I am familiar with its beauty. I grew up on Northern NJ, at the foot of the Ramapo mountains. That’s what I miss about living here in flat TX, the hills and mountains!
