Friends play as the late summer sun smiles down from above. It really doesn’t matter what the game is. What’s important is that they get to share some time together exploring the the jungle of little white flowers.
I haven’t taken the time to get an ID on the moth near the top of flowers but the little guy with the interesting wings is what caught my eye. The Ailanthus Webworm is a living artwork. When I was a kid we called them clown moths because the pattern on the wings reminded us of the Clownfish. I’m certain that Wikipedia has a nice article all about the lifecycle and range as well as the habits along with all the other tidbits of scientific data. But, in the eyes of a child he’s a tiny little butterfly of the night. His job is to wonder around and look pretty. He exists for the sole purpose of making us smile.
