False Rue Anemone During The Evening Chorus

Hello Friends! Tonight’s Feature Image is titled “False Rue Anemone 32621a” and is available for purchase by clicking the thumbnail and reaching out to me on the contact page.

Twilight falls early here on the dark side of my mountain. In burgeoning days of Spring I am overjoyed to have a little light to work with at the end of the day. So I stroll out to my forest sanctuary on the edge of my property and welcome the awakening wildflowers back into my life. Their rising starts slowly. The first few are always seated in just the right place to catch the last few rays of the sun as it swiftly fades behind the far ridge. Magic hour has arrived! Magic hour is the fleeting moment between the full strength of the sun and the moment that the dusk to dawn lights come on. The songbirds are joined by Spring Peepers and together their lullaby sings the light to sleep. The night winds spill over the mountains and rattle the few remaining fall leaves on the young beech trees. They flutter in small bursts to add rhythm to the evening chorus. The hillside is dotted with the tiny glory of the early blooms. As I looked down at my feet the False Rue Anemone seemed to call my name and beckoned me to take her portrait. She is the essence of simple beauty in the evening. Her perfect petals and upward gaze standing just above the outstretched leaves form the welcoming gesture of nature. I snapped the shutter and added her smile to my collection to pull out and enjoy forever.

Good night friends and be blessed throughout your days.
