The little dragon sets his gaze and surveys his domain so that none may pass without his approval. His wings are like cocked springs waiting for release. At the very edge of his vision his rival waits with equal vigilance. Silence falls across their realm as they subtlety prepare for engagement and at the hight of tension one flinches slightly. Reflexes that are thousands of times quicker than a human eye control the action and an arial wrestling match ensued. The tiny beasts waste no time with bluffing and go straight into attack darting through the thick vegetation with ease. They collide like living missiles in an entanglement of powerful legs and jaws. The dual breaks the silence as the dry rattle of wings clamor throughout the marsh drawing the attention of a hungry bird. The dark wings of predation glide to a nearby Reed in anticipation of the loser’s ultimate fate but this time no free meal will be had. The dualing dragons suddenly break from each other and return to their posts. Whatever territorial dispute they have will be settled another day.
The lesson to be learned is that in every conflict there’s a third party waiting for an opportunity to take advantage.
