A Quiet Day At Home

Hello Friends! Tonight’s Feature Image is titled “Hog Peanut Flowers 91021” and is available for purchase by clicking the thumbnail and reaching out to me on the contact page.

Silence fills my day as I sit in my chair slowly sipping a mug of hot ginger lemonade. A mild cold has kept me under the protection of my favorite blanket for a few days. I love my coffee but when I’m sick I prefer the herbs. I have a tendency to cycle through my mental index and try different things. The basic recipe for the hot lemonade is lemon juice, strong ginger for spice and raw honey. Sometimes I add a little cloves but that’s probably an acquired taste. The rhythmic clinking of spoon in the mug is the only thing I hear as I stare out my window and notice the pods growing on the forest edges. They’re the hog peanut vines that I’ve decided to allow. Aside from the edible tubers that resemble peanuts only much smaller they provide me with a bit of beauty in summer. Not so much the vines themselves but in the form of the little skipper butterflies that keeps me company. They host on the vines and I presume that if I took the time to look that I’d find a small, somewhat geometric clutch of tiny butterfly eggs waiting for Spring. During the summer the vines will give me several broods of butterflies and then in September I get the small pea flowers that you see in tonight’s Feature Image.

Good night friends and be blessed throughout your days.
