Before The Changes

Hello Friends! Tonight’s Feature Image is titled “Before The Changes 92221bw” and is available for purchase by clicking the thumbnail and reaching out to me on the contact page.

The sleepy morning sun peers over the mountains and looks down into the landscape to find the last few blooming thistles. Things are still growing and he pours out his energy into the “lifescape” before his gaze. Bumblebees wake and waste not one second in finding their needs as the changing world prepares to reach the mark. From this day forward the long shadows will return to lull the forest to sleep. Shortly the sunset will stain the land in red, yellow and orange the wash the pallet clean in preparation for the next work in Spring. If the work is done on time then it will be a season for dreaming and planning. A hypnotic season of stars and open skies above the empty framework of the sleeping forest awaits the world. We should savor every single moment and not waste the glory of Fall while we have it.

Dreaming In Purple

The light slowly fades behind the ridges and shadows soften the landscape. With the day’s work done it’s time for rest and even the industrious little bumblebee is ready for a recharge. She clings tightly to underside of the sweet buds in the humid air. As she drifts off into the land of Nod she thinks about her day. Thoughts turn to expectations and expectations are born in dreams. As her body rests she experiences a magical world with glorious blooms and an open sky. Perhaps she encounters friends and neighbors in her dream world and listens to the angels sing over her. Dawn brings a new world and as she’s warmed by the sunshine she wakes to find her dream made real as the very buds she clings to have opened in the night and are waiting for her to enjoy. The Good Lord above has seen to all her needs. How much more will He give to you and me?

A Moment In Beetropolis

Hello Friends! Tonight’s Feature Image is titled “Sunny Moment 82421” and is available for purchase by clicking the thumbnail and reaching out to me on the contact page.

The scent of multiple Appalachian Wildflowers hangs in the light breeze and the edge of the country lane is full of buzzing as I approach the vegetation. This spot is full of the delightful yellow faces of woodland sunflowers. Although not the giant blooms that we normally associate with sunflower these are definitely sunflowers. I doubt that we could ever find a more iconic symbol of joy than on containing the happiness exemplified in a bright yellow bloom being visited by a honeybee or bumblebee. What’s more is that this particular stand of flowers is currently a “beetropolis” that dances to both the breeze and the rhythm of tiny wings. I’ve heard urban dwellers speak about how busy the streets and sidewalks are but here in the beetropolis life isn’t constrained by the elements of mortar encased stone and rivers of hardened cement. The hustle and bustle is in the very air as the citizens of beetropolis float effortlessly about the living towers of floral glory. There world is one of wonderful destinations and plentiful supplies. Life holds much wonderment if we simply take a moment to partake of it.

Living on Sunshine

Hello Friends! Tonight’s Feature Image is titled “Kiss Of The Sun 81221” and is available for purchase by clicking the thumbnail and reaching out to me on the contact page.

The shadow of the mountain inches ever closer to the bright yellow flowers that line the edge of the country lane. I idle along in my big blue truck with the window down. My eyes may not be as acute as they once were but the bumblebee’s flight is still unmistakable. She flies past the woodland sunflower and arches around to stick a perfect bullseye right in the center. She’s turned her work into a game. She playfully spirals around the center as she sips from each floret. It occurs to me that the sunflower is situated in a place on the forest edge where it can take full advantage of the sun’s course from morning to night. All day it soaks in the light and transforms it into a sweet resin which the bees gather so diligently. No wonder that little bumblebee seems so happy and playful. She’s full of sunshine!

A Peaceful Moment With A Bumblebee

The still warm air forecasts an afternoon rain as I roll down the window of the big blue truck. The late summer bloom brings the bumblebees out in search of the sweet rewards of pollination. Her fur is covered in little grains of golden treasures as she investigates each individual floret. She hasn’t got a worry in the world. Her only focus is on accepting that blessing which God himself has placed in such abundance. I’m always in awe of how healthy and carefree wildlife seems. All they require is there for the taking. I’m aware that there’s also times of struggle but in general they can peacefully go about their business with little bother. Perhaps that’s why I’m drawn to the natural world. In observing the life around me I think I can partake of their peace.
